Camp Concord

The weekend of October 8th, we went up to Camp Concord on the south shore of Lake Tahoe. It was cold, but there was no snow on the ground yet. Last year it snowed us on camp closing weekend. We took our neighbors, the Bibbs with us and had a great time closing the camp for the winter. In return for our labor Camp Concord provides each family with a cabin and 3 meals a day. Tom and I repaired a roof, disassembled the archery range and collected up all the fire tools and bear cans. Elizabeth and Debra spent most of their time sorting out all the craft items and getting rid of everything that had gotten damp and moldy. This was a huge all day job. Race and Daria went with the camp counselors and got to do archery, play games, watch movies, and go on a nature hike where they got to see a momma bear and her cub fishing for salmon in the stream. Pretty cool!
