July 25th--Cub Scout Camp Out

We hosted the Cubs in our backyard for their first over night camp out.

July 12th--Relay for Life/Lindsay Wildlife Museum

Elizabeth made a whirlwind trip to Dallas for an MCA meeting and returned about 11:00 Saturday night. She stopped at home to change and then went to the American Cancer Society Relay for life for the last 12 hours of walking with the DVMA. Race and Aurora went to the Lindsay Wildlife Museum with Uncle Jason while Elizabeth and Amy walked.

4th of July Weekend

We spent the 4th of July in Willows and it was wonderful. Small town America still has a lot to offer. Willows again hosted the Norcal Shelby Club for a car show and barbecue at a downtown park. The local Fire Department hosted the barbecue and the Police, with help from the California Highway Patrol, again closed the highway and city streets and escorted all the race cars into town from the track. Saturday and Sunday were spent on the track. Dean and Steve drove, Elizabeth and Cathy worked the MCA booth, and Race spent the time playing with Ron and Randy's grand kids. Yep, everyone had a good time. Saturday, the 4th, we went to the Norcal banquet as usual, and then into the park for fireworks. The park was crowded by Willows standards, but empty compared to home. Everyone was well behaved and having fun. We might Willows our standard 4th of July weekend trip.

July 2nd--Downtown Concord Car Show

Elizabeth was in charge of the City of Concord's Downtown Car Show this year. She enlisted the DVMA to help with parking and registration. It was a great event with classic cars surrounding the park where there was a Farmer's Market in progress and, later in teh evening, a concert. Elizabeth did two spots for the Channel 5 news, one live, and was featured on their website with her '65 Convertible.
